“Sports are 90% mental and 10% physical”

We’ve all heard it, but are athletes today allocating the proper amount of time to the thing that separates them from the rest?

As an athlete, from the time you start playing a sport, you begin to train your body, hard. From sprints to box jumps, intense weight lifting programs to endurance training. When you train your muscles, they get stronger, allowing you to physically perform better. However, for many athletes it isn’t until they reach a high level of competition that they start to train their mind. It simply doesn’t make sense…

For many, the part that equals 90% of the equation is just expected to be learned. The tools that are needed in order to successfully handle pressure, playing time or lack of, injuries, tough coaches and parents, issues with teammates, body image, etc. are simply not highlighted and taught from a young age.

We are here to change that. At Heist Academy, our goal is to help athletes learn how to strengthen their mind and become more mindful by teaching them skills that will allow them to combat all of the tough things that both life and sports throw their way.

Through Mind Training + Mindfulness, athletes are taught how to use their mind to take them to the next level, both as a human and as an athlete. By learning how to incorporate breathing into their life, how to turn road blocks into opportunities, the art of  visualization and meditation, fixed vs, growth mindset, positive affirmations and how to use them, goal setting, and many other things, they are able to conquer all that is thrown their way.
