There comes a time in every season that you hit a wall. Regardless of if you’re having a great season or a not so great season. Your body hurts, you’re mentally and physically exhausted, you have tests coming up, and you feel like you have nothing more to give. I’ve been there. I know exactly what you’re feeling.
It’s during these times, times of exhaustion, that you get to choose to give in to the voice in your head telling you that it’s okay to just go through the motions and make it through the end of the season, OR you can choose to be present in all that you do and make the most of the rest of your season.
You’ve made it this far and you owe it to yourself to finish strong and give it all you’ve got. You don’t want to look back a year from now and think to yourself, “I wish I would have tried harder at the end of the season.” Living with regret is not a very fun way to live.
What I would do to go back and celebrate on the court one more time, hang out in the locker room before practice and even eat pregame meal as a team. Those are moments that you don’t realize the value of until you no longer have them, so take advantage of the opportunities you do have and make the most out of them. You’ve heard it time and time again, but it’s true: the days are slow, the weeks are slower, but the years are FAST.
So, regardless of how your season is going, from now until the end of it, I want you to make the most out of it because you aren’t promised another one.
